Born in Germany in 1988 to Iranian parents, Shahab studied Time-Based Media at Mainz University of Applied Sciences (Bachelor of Arts) and completed his diploma at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. In addition to short and experimental films, he has made one narrative feature and four feature-length documentaries, produced in seven countries. His works explore the permeability of borders, peace in the context of war, and questions of a mystical reality underlying everyday life.
